Dr. Gina Wong

Registered Psychologist

Dr. Wong believes in our human capacity to thrive and grow in the midst of change and uncertainty; and that living with intention and engagements with our relationship with ourselves is the foundation to living a life and finding a love that’s one for the ages. 

Dr. Wong strongly in cultural humility, responsivity, stewardship of the environment, naming and identifying systems of oppression, advocating for reproductive and perinatal mental health, and affecting meaningful shifts for generations to come through how they work as a psychologist and who she is as a person.

She supports personal and professional growth of others, with areas of specialization that include Reproductive Mental Health; Parenting & Attachment; Relationships; Racial Trauma and Asian Mental Health/Psychology; Women’s Life Leadership & Engagement.

Speaker/Educator

Dr. Wong is an inspiring speaker and educator. She is an award winning media spokesperson for anti-hate recognized by the Alberta Psychological Association. Gina strives to inspire individuals and organizations to exact positive changes in areas of inclusivity, diversity, and equity. She also shares her own stories of race and belonging, and educates about reproductive mental health, parent reflective functioning, Asian psychology, and Asian female leadership.

Book Author/Editor & Courses

Dr. Wong is a lover of words, stories, and the creativity to share meaningful ideas through writing. She has edited three books: "Maternal Infanticide and Filicide: Foundations of Maternal Mental Health Forensics", "Moms Gone Mad: Motherhood and Maddness-Oppression and Resilience", "Mothering in East Asian Communities: Politics and Practices." Gina has authored "Reflective Practice in Counsellor Education." In her latest writing, she talks about racial trauma, internalized racism, and evolving to leadership and personal power in "We Rise in Power: Amplifying Women of Colour and Our Voices for Change."
